Clayfield

Clayfield is located just over six kilometres northeast of the CBD. It is home to many fine examples of older Queenslanders that have been restored and maintained. Given its relative close proximity to the city, the airport and major transport routes, the suburb has seen the growth of medium density units in recent years. This has resulted in a strong rental market.

The closest hospital is the Royal Brisbane Hospital. There are a number of schools in the suburb catering for both primary and secondary school children, including the Eagle Junction State School, St Agatha's Primary School, St Rita's Secondary College and Clayfield College

Westfield Shoppingtown in Toombul is the closest major shopping centre with Lutwyche shopping centre also close. A bit further to the north on Lutwyche Road is Chermside Shopping Centre.

Clayfield residents are well catered for with parks, bike and walk ways. The suburb is close to the Racecourse Road Festival in May as well as the Winter and Spring Racing Carnivals at Albion race course. Clayfield also has a lively café scene.

The area has seen a progression from retirees/older residents to young families. The suburb has approximately 70% houses and 30% townhouse/units.

The northern train line runs straight through the area with Albion Station, Wooloowin Station, Eagle Junction Station, Toombul and Nundah train stations all close by. Bus and ferry routes are also accessible. Clayfield is close to the airport and the new sky train and has easy access to the Gateway arterial. These features ensure that Clayfield remains popular and towards the top of the suburb ranking.
